Email to Activities - How it works

Email to Activities copies emails that would normally log in the iHance Emails section of the Contact or Lead record to the Activities section of the Contact or Lead record.

Behavior on Accounts, Opportunities or Cases just follows normal salesforce.com rules from there. Example: Activities bubble up from the Contact records to Account records because salesforce.com shows an aggregation of Activities on the Account record normally.

  • We have two examples where emails will not copy to Activities for further explain the feature.

    1) If you manually associate an email with a Case then that email will be in our Email section but it will not write down to Activities.

    2) If you are using Internal Email to Case those emails will be in our Email section but it will not write down to Activities.

    In both of these examples the email was never written to a contact or lead record so the write-down to Activities never happened.
