iHance activites are being logged and creating a new task in SFDC when no workflow exist create this task

Recently emails that have been logged as completed activities in SFDC are sending a new Task to the contact owner.

In out Absolute Automation App in SFDC, we have the "email-to-activity" set as "Copy Emails to Activities." and marked as "Completed", but for some reason a email alert is created informing the user that a new Task has been assigned for them in SFDC, when this is already marked as completed??? How can we stop this notification? We need to see the completed activity, but I do not need to send an email alert on a new task that is already completed. I looked at all SFDC internal workflows and email alerts and there are no workflows or email alerts that would trigger these "New Tasks"

  • Mark,

iHance does not email any alerts.  "Task Notifications" is a Salesforce setting which you should be able to turn off.

If that does not work I would suggest opening a case with Salesforce.

    Thanks,

  • We are experiencing something similar and are encountering an issue where task e-mails are being generated by Salesforce to log e-mails when new contacts are added to an account. What is strange is that these tasks have due dates that are in the past (in some cases several years in the past). Some of our sales staff are getting hit with hundreds of tasks being generated, so they are obviously upset. We are currently on Winter 15 and have updated Absolute Automation to the latest version.

  • The Winter ’15 upgrade adds the following setting to your Salesforce:
    • In My Settings | Reminders & Alerts |Events and Tasks, the Email me when someone assigns me a task checkbox is added, and **it’s selected by default**
    1) If you want to keep the previous setting, you will need to turn off the associated preference in Setup, under Customize | Activities | Activity Settings and deselect Enable user control over task assignment notifications. Turning this preference off will revert task assignment email notification functionality to pre-Winter '15 behavior. For complete details about the effects of turning this preference on or off, please refer to the Release Notes

    2) If you want to keep the current settings each of your Salesforce user's can uncheck the Email me when someone assigns me a task checkbox.   Unfortunately this will disable all notifications for all "Assigned" tasks, not just email tasks.
